Mastiffs are a group of large and powerful dog breeds known for their imposing size, loyalty, and gentle nature. They have a history of guarding and protecting livestock. These massive dogs have short coats and come in various colors, such as fawn and brindle. Mastiffs are among the largest dog breeds, weighing between 140 to 230 pounds and standing 27 to 33 inches tall at the shoulder. They are characterized by their gentle, affectionate, and calm temperament, making them excellent watchdogs. While not highly active, they are intelligent and require consistent training and socialization. Their grooming needs are minimal, and they may be prone to specific health issues, necessitating regular veterinary check-ups. With an average lifespan of 6 to 10 years, Mastiffs are well-suited for individuals and families who can provide them with the care and attention they need.
