Description

I am rehoming two male Chihuahuas who are 8 weeks old. They are ready to find their new homes. I am charging $150 for each puppy. They have been crate trained but have not received any shots or have any papers. I have a picture of the two puppies, as well as their parents. The mother is a deer head Chihuahua and the father is an applehead Chihuahua. Please note that I can only accept phone calls and cannot respond to text messages or emails.

The Chihuahua is a breed known for its compact body. The breed standard highlights the apple-shaped skull and a moderately long tail carried high. The tail can be curved or form a semicircle with the tip pointing towards the loin region. Chihuahuas should be slightly longer in length than their height at the withers, and male Chihuahuas may have an almost square body. The breed is characterized by alertness, quickness, liveliness, and courage. They are described as small, dainty, and compact, with high intelligence and a spirited temperament that is neither aggressive nor shy.

According to the American Kennel Club, the Chihuahua's skull should have an "apple dome" shape that is well-rounded. The muzzle should be moderately short with a slight point and a defined stop. The cheeks and jaws should be lean, and the eyes should be large and round without protruding. The lowest point of the ear should align with the center of the eye, and the eyes should be well-spaced. The preferred eye color is dark or ruby, although lighter shades are acceptable. The ears should be large and flaring, forming an angle of about forty-five degrees to create breadth between them. The jaw should be strong with a complete and regular scissor bite, where the upper teeth closely overlap the lower teeth and align square to the jaws. The Chihuahua standard calls for a medium-length neck with a slight arch.

In terms of movement, the Chihuahua should have a springy, energetic, and active stride with good reach and drive. When viewed from the back, the hind legs should move almost parallel to each other, aligning the footprints of the hind feet with those left by the front feet. At higher speeds, the limbs may converge towards the center of gravity or a single track. The Chihuahua should exhibit free and springy movement while keeping its head raised and firm without visible effort. The coat of a short-haired Chihuahua should be glossy with a soft texture, while a longhaired Chihuahua's coat should be fine, silky, and either smooth or slightly wavy. The breed standard allows for all shades and color combinations. The ideal weight for a Chihuahua is between 1.5 and 3 kg, with lower weights accepted and higher weights disqualifying them from the standard.
