My female parti Yorkie recently had a litter of four puppies - two female and two male. One female and one male are standard colored, while the other female and male are parti colored. The puppies are currently three weeks old and will be ready for new homes in 6 to 8 weeks. This is my female's second and last litter, so I'm only considering serious inquiries. If you're interested, please text me. Please note that I won't rehome any puppies until you've visited and met them to ensure they're a good fit for your family.

Yorkie puppies are some of the cutest and most lovable animals out there. Their small size, intelligent eyes, and adorable faces have made them popular among pet owners. But beyond their physical appearance, Yorkies have a lot of personality and temperament traits that make them great companions.

Personality and Temperament of the Yorkshire Terrier Breed

I am sure that you have heard that Yorkie puppies are high energy, full of spunk, and love to play. While that is true, there is much more to the personality and temperament of the Yorkshire Terrier than just playtime. This breed of puppy is loyal and adaptable, making for a great family pet.

Loyal

Yorkies are incredibly loyal to their owners. They form strong bonds and prefer to stay close to their family whenever possible. Yorkies will protect their family fiercely and can be quite alert when it comes to strangers entering the household.

Adaptable

Yorkies are incredibly adaptable when it comes to different situations or environments. This breed is quite comfortable living in both small apartments as well as large homes with yards. Yorkies also adapt quickly when faced with new challenges or people; they may react a bit cautiously at first, but they will adjust quickly once they get used to their surroundings.

Playful and Brave

In addition to being loyal and adaptable, Yorkie puppies are also known for their courage and playfulness. These puppies have plenty of energy for games like fetch or tug-of-war, and will bravely face unfamiliar challenges without fear. Yorkies love interaction with people, so it’s important for them to be around family members whenever possible. Provided with an appropriate outlet for their energy in the form of exercise or playtime, these puppies can make wonderful companions!

Training and Socialization Tips for Yorkies

Yorkie puppies are a bundle of joy, but just like any other breed, require a great deal of training and socialization. As their owner, it’s important to be patient and consistent when teaching them the basics.

Here are some tips that have helped me when it comes to training and socializing my Yorkie:

Start early. Training should begin as soon as your Yorkie puppy comes home. Introducing basic commands such as sit, stay, come and down will help not only with obedience training, but also with bonding and building trust with your puppy.

Use positive reinforcement techniques such as treats or pets when your Yorkie does something correctly or exhibits good behavior. This reinforces the response you're looking for and can help speed up the overall training process.

Spend time getting your Yorkie used to a variety of people, places and things to ensure he is comfortable in different environments and around people he doesn't know that well. This helps develop his confidence in unfamiliar situations, which is especially important for his well-being as an adult dog!

Establish boundaries from the start so both you and your pup understand where their limits lie - this will help limit negative behavior in the future!

Last but not least: be consistent! Consistency is key when it comes to house rules for yourself and your pup - this helps establish structure so everyone knows what's expected of them! Read more
