Shichi

The Shichi is a mixed breed dog that is a cross between the Chihuahua and the Shih Tzu breeds. They are known for their spunky, sweet, and smart temperament. Shichis are small dogs, weighing between 3 and 12 pounds. They are great with children and other pets, and make excellent watchdogs due to their protective nature. Shichis require a high-quality protein-rich diet to prevent obesity and joint issues later in life. They also need regular rigorous exercise, including active playtime. Training Shichis is fairly easy due to their intelligence and easy temperament. However, they can be a little stubborn, so a firm, consistent approach is best. Socialization should begin at an early age to ensure they are comfortable around people and other animals. If you're interested in adopting a Shichi, it's important to note that they are not eligible to join the American Kennel Club's roster of purebreds due to their designer status. However, both parents are members of the AKC.
